Anti-Wrinkle with Botulinum Toxin A
Botulinum Toxin A is a purified form of Botulinum neurotoxin, that can temporarily relax facial muscles. It can reduce the appearance of static and dynamic lines, primarily in the face and neck. By relaxing these muscles, anti-wrinkle helps smooth skin, leading to a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Botox results can take upwards to 2 weeks to fully set in, and expected to last 12 weeks.
Dr Mai carries a range of neurotoxins (all approved by the Irish Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA)) which have subtle differences in onset, dispersion, duration, and effectiveness depending on age profile. She will select or recommend the most suitable neurotoxin to meet your aesthetic goals.
Beyond Basic Botox
Dr Mai's approach to Anti-Wrinkle is different to your usual clinic. She will do a full facial assessment and create a bespoke treatment plan that considers all the muscles of your face. The goal is to achieve a fresher and well-rested appearance while preserving natural facial expressions.

Medical Applications of Neurotoxins
Botulinum toxin also has many medical applications. Being used since the 1990s, it has an incredibly strong safety profile. As medical treatments, they often can be covered by your insurance provider.
- Haytox - an incredibly effective treatment for Hayfever (runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes) that lasts 4-6 months. No needles used.
- Hyperhidrosis/excessive sweating - by blocking the nerve signals that activate sweat glands, excessive sweating and odour can be controlled.
- Bruxism/teeth grinding - treat jaw pain, tension, and headaches caused by teeth grinding.
- Traptox - relieve chronic muscle tension and pain in the neck, as well as improve posture; procedure will also result in slimming of the trapezius muscle to soften muscular neck and shoulders.
Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are made up of cross-linked hyaluronic acid which can be injected into the skin to help restore shape and volume. They come in different densities which can be used in different areas of the face. Our bodies make a natural enzyme, hyaluronidase, that break down the filler over time.
As we age, there is a natural and expected decline in collagen and thus, volume in our face. Expertly placed dermal filler can help naturally restore this volume. Results are immediate and can last anywhere from 6-18 months, depending on the quantity and density of filler used.
Tear Trough Rejuvenation
Using the finest filler, dark circles and hollowness can instantly be lifted to brighten and lift tired-looking eyes.
Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty
An excellent alternative to the surgical route, filler can smooth bumps, straighten and lift the slope, and overall reduce the appearance of a larger nose.

Regenerative Aesthetics
Treatments have come a long way over the last decade with more focus on Prevention. These treatments focus on slowing down the aging process by promoting collagen and elastin production by our own fibroblasts.
Optimal results will always be achieved with a course of treatments, with an ideal protocol indicated for each.
Sculptra
Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which acts as a biostimulator. It gradually replaces lost collagen which can lift sagging areas, restore lost volume, improve skin texture, and enhance overall facial contours all in one treatment.
One vial is recommended per decade of life, divided over 2-3 treatments, 6 weeks apart. Results can last for up to two years.
Polynucleotides
PNs are ultra-purified DNA fragments, typically derived from fish (like salmon or trout), that stimulate the skin's natural regeneration and repair processes. They are considered a bio-stimulator, encouraging the body to produce collagen, elastin, and other essential components for healthy, youthful-looking skin.
3-4 treatments are recommended, 2-3 weeks apart.
Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is derived from your own blood. It involves separating platelets and plasma from a blood sample and then injecting or micro-needling the concentrated PRP into the targeted area. The high concentration of growth factors mediates cellular regeneration and repair. Growth factors in the plasma increase collagen and elastin production, stem cell proliferation and vascular formation.
Treatments are often combined with medical grade micro needling which will help improve the appearance of acne scars, surgical scars, large pores, and fine lines.
2-3 treatments are recommended 4-6 weeks apart.
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
Similar to PRP, PRF is also a platelet concentrate. PRF however, has a higher concentration of platelets, fibrin, and white blood cells, along with a small amount of stem cells. Platelets become embedded in a fibrin matrix which allows for long-lasting growth factor delivery to the treatment site. The fibrin matrix serves as a scaffold for new tissue reconstruction.
PRF offers different application possibilities due to the different viscosities that can be achieved. It can be used in the under eye area, or areas that have become collagen-deficient.
